The season has wrapped with some high octane activity for Primal/MapMyRide Team members. After posting some decent results at the Gateway Cup in St. Louis (with Nicky Wangsgard aka the Prof taking 4th on the last day), the Prof and Liza traveled to the Sacramento GP where they took 2nd and 4th respectively.
On the heels of this podium performance, the Prof, Liza, Emily (aka the Lil Ducky), Director Susannah (aka the Boss) and I headed to Las Vegas for Interbike–a big cycling industry trade show in Las Vegas. We got to spend some great time with our awesome sponsors including, Primal, BH, Lizard Skins and many more!

The Prof and I also participated in the Ride for Reading. This excellent event involved delivering books (many of which were donated by Primal) to a nearby school on BH and Pivot bikes (with Josh manning the demo fleet!). The mission of Ride for Reading is promoting literacy and health in low income areas by donating books on bikes. The kids of Dean Peterson elementary were lined up outside the school as about 100 of us arrived on bike with police escort. The screaming and cheering was deafening and the kids were so excited to receive their books. The Prof and I hope to participate in more of these events–we loved every minute of it!

Not soon after Interbike, the Prof, Liza and I headed to Beantown for the Boston TD Bank Mayor’s Cup. 2000 Olympian Nicole Freedman puts on this sweet big money crit in downtown Boston. Held in conjunction with Hub on Wheels, the race is held on a great course with fabulous crowds. We were super lucky to stay with host family, Kate, Andy, Aubrey and Griffin. The stereotype of WICKED smart, successful, sporty people DEFINITELY held true for this uber family. We raced aggressively and the Prof picked up a $500 prime. Ultimately Liza and I finished 6th and 8th. It was an awesome race with great money and terrific atmosphere! A great way to end the season.
